About this object

This gown was made by Eleanor Bourdôt for her daughter Servilla. Servilla was born 2nd January 1910. Eleanor was a dressmaker and this dress is partly hand and machine sewn. White cotton baby gown. Skirt gathered onto yoke, wide edge of broderie anglaise at skirt hem. Yoke is decorated with horizontal lines of pin tucks all over. Sleeves gathered onto armholes and at cuffs which has a broderie anglaise frill with a turn back piece of net lace over wrist. Same net lace is used to decorate neck. Back placket opening.
