About this object

This gown was made by Eleanor Bourdôt for her daughter Servilla. Servilla was born 2nd January 1910. Eleanor was a dressmaker and this dress is partly hand and machine sewn. White cotton gown. Bodice is decorated with broderie anglaise frill insets, in between pin tucks. Long sleeves gathered to shoulder and cuff, with an inset down arm of lace and at cuff. Skirt gathered onto bodice, hem has an elaborate band of broderie anglaise insets, pin tucks, lace alternating. The hem edge has a frill of broderie anglaise.
