About this object

White lawn blouse c.1900. High stand up neck and long sleeves that are full at upper arm and tight at forearm and cuff. Cuff is decorated with pin tucks and broderie anglaise lace ribbon. Vertical pin tucks front and back around neck and shoulders with bands at elbows on sleeves. Overtop of the pin tucks at neck are ribbons of broderie anglaise in V shape designs, blouse gathered onto waistband. Open and closed down the centre back with six carved mother-of-pearl buttons. This blouse belonged to Selina Bowmar (née Hastie).
