About this object

Black velvet cape late 19th Century with stand up collar. Black sequins and beads cover the outside in repeating patterns. Circular shape, fully lined with black twill weave glazed cotton and quilted with thick padding. Fastened down centre front by a metal hooks and eyes. Collar is lined with black feathers, and is elaborately beaded and sequined on the outside. Label on inside reads, 'CARNIER CONFECTIONS 208 REGENT STREET LONDON'.
