About this object

Granger's brickworks on the banks of the Turanga River. "Liberty Hall', centre background, was formerly situated inside the entrance gate of the property. Later purchased by Mr Lewis Gilbertson, father of Mrs Cyril Chatfield. This building was used as a school for the greater part of 12 months until the brick school was completed. The property on which 'Liberty Hall' was situated before it was removed to the brickyard was owned by John Granger before he sold it to Mr Gilbertson. + 3 copies, 2 enlargements (1 on card)
