About this object

Members of the Pakuranga Hunt outside Bleak House. Robert Maclean was the first master of the hunt in 1874. Every Maclean is standing extreme left, on the back row of the verandah wearing a black coat and has white side whiskers. 1st left is J Bailey and 2nd left Alfred Buckland. Photograph also shows a gig. Hares were liberated at Pakuranga in 1868 by Robert and Every Maclean. Kennels were built at Pigeon Mountain and loaned to the club by the Maclean Brothers. 1 smaller copy and 1 enlargement
