The K4 Austin was built at Longbridge, Birmingham and because they were quite similar in looks to the O model Bedford they were often referred to as the 'Birmingham Bedford'.
This model was supplied by P. H. Vickerys to A. D. Dickie of Mataura, who sold it to the Caughey Brothers of Lochiel in 1954. They sold it to Dixon and Swale of Winton in 1974. Bill Richardson bought it in 1988 from Tommy Dixon.
