Western Bay Museum

Account profile image
The small Museum that tells a big story.

Nau mai, haere mai ki te whare tongarewa o Nga Kuri-a-Wharei ki Otamarakau ki te Uru.

We are a small, 21st century Museum situated in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, Katikati, sharing stories of the Western Bay region.

We take immense pride in the historical, cultural and artistic stories of our area and present these narratives in fresh and interesting ways, utilising our permanent collection of objects and artefacts.

Temporary, ever changing exhibitions in the Taylor Bros Transport Ltd Gallery are developed and displayed regularly, keeping our arrangements fresh and exciting.

Take your students back to the 1900's with our strict Head Mistress in our Seeka Kiwifruit NZ Ltd interactive school room.
All pupils are dressed in uniform of that era, and experience school life of a bygone time.
