About this object
This photo shows an Addressograph Graphotype plate cutting machine being operated in Chief Accountant’s Department, 1955.
This machine was first used by the Bank in 1942.
Addressograph machines were used to emboss addresses onto metal plates that could then be used in mail-outs. These machines led to considerable savings in clerical labour for organisations with large mailing lists.

Include tags such as place names, people, dates, events and colours. Use commas to separate multiple tags. e.g. Pablo Picasso, Madrid, red, 1930s.
