About this object
Wooden bracket, depicting a floral design with tulips, roses and a corn cob mounted a wooden base with laurel edging. Exhibited at the 1865 New Zealand Exhibition in Dunedin. Carved by Louis John Godfrey (1834-1918) who resided in Dunedin in the 1860s, 1870s and 1880s. Godfrey's highly detailed carvings graced many of Dunedin's finest buildings that were constructed in this period.
