About this object
A small slender stone patu onewa with two grooves on the butt, hole drilled through for suspending a thong. 340 x 65 x 15mm (HWD). A particularly fine specimen believed to be the onewa of a Chieftainess. Pre-European this is a left handed patu onewa. This was found near Ruapekapeka in 1880.
