About this object
Green/cream stripe watered silk-shot satin

This dress has a strapless, darted fitted bodice with a boned, built-in bra. The bodice is attached to the very full, panelled skirt which has box pleats at the centre front. The top of the bodice is edged with a band of self-material and this has also been used to cover the cord which emphasises the narrow waist. This style of dress was worn over stiffened petticoats.
