About this object
Cream silk wedding gown.

This gown has a slightly boused bodice and double folds of silk over the shoulders, front to back from the waist. The high standing collar, yoke and lower sleeves are all made of machine made lace edged with chemical lace and a pleated tulle edging. The skirt and sash are silk. The front panels are drawn threadwork on silk. This may be an example of the South American lacework known as 'Sol' or 'Nanduti'
