Name/Title
1926- 1st Dominion Jamboree communication from the Cook Islands.
About this object
A letter from commissioner J.D. Campbell of the Cook Islands to Major Furby, the General Secretary of Scouting in NZ. The letter is headed "personal", but does not appear to contain items of that nature. It describe the travel difficulties of getting Scouts from the islands to a Jamboree which can still be the case today, and covers some issues relating to working together at the Jamboree. It is also has a printed letterhead indicating the Cook Islands as a province and being part of the Dominion Boy Scouts and uses the Cossgrove era emblem of the fern leaves surrounding the Scout arrowhead. Today, Scouting in the Cook Islands is still part of Scouting New Zealand even though the Island's are now nominally independent.
Date Made
