Pioneer Village
The Pioneer Village provides a time trail from the mid 1800s to the 1930s with a chapel, four houses, a post office, a museum and administration building, and gardens of the period. The houses contain furnishings and objects related to their times and the museum building display shows development of the local area, including Orewa and the Whangaparoa Peninsula from Maori occupation to timber milling to gum digging and farming. Also a large photographic collection and archive materials concerning families, institutions and activities.
