Subject and Association Description
One of a group of bird specimens, huia, tui, kingfisher and morepork.The kingfisher is found throughout New Zealand but in greater numbers in the North Island. It lives in both forest and open country and feeds on insects, worms, small fish, mice and lizards, also crustaceans and shellfish (Falla et al.)
