About this object
A collection of coins and notes pre decimal currency.
British coin became the only legal tender in New Zealand in 1897.
In 1934 the Reserve Bank was established. British currency was no longer legal tender in NZ, from 1st February 1935.
Decimal currency was adopted in NZ on 10th July 1967.
