About this object
This wooden, jointed doll made with a pen knife in the 1920s, exhibits the Catlins trait for improvisation. The end result is rugged, well -used and not without a touch of humour or horror. This unique doll has opossum fur for hair, silver metal pins embedded into the wood to create a mouth and nailed beads to represent eyes.
