About this object
Hat, woman's; silk-lined black straw hat is trimmed with a profusion of looped ribbon whose shape is supported with wire. Ostrich feathers, wide grosgrain ribbon, fine pleated muslin and a black silk rosebud with leaves complete the decoration. Wide silk ribbons tie under the chin. Probably a mourning bonnet.
