Subject and Association Description
Not much is known of Toea except that her portrait was painted in 1842 by George French Angus. Due to her lineage she was treated with all the respect and privilege due to puhi of the tribe. She later married and is the ancestress of the subsequent line of descent of Wiremu Neera Te Awaitaia.
