About this object
A sculpture of children enjoying a rocking horse ride. The body of the sculpture is riddled with holes and this lends a haunting, macabre effect to the figures. It is made of composite materials and stained in a green patina to imitate bronze.

First named 'Monster in Hagley' and inspired by Bancroft's observation of children riding a metal rocking horse then in Christchurch's Hagley Park playground. All figures, including the horse, have a skeletal appearance.
